New Esperance have been dancing for over 40 years in London. With hundreds of dancers and musicians over the years in evolving kits, there’s a large archive of photos and videos. Take a look at the below journey through the years.
1978: At the Women’s Morris Federation AGM with Dianne Moddy and Len Killick. Mark I of New Esperance kit.
1970s: Another one of our first kit, this time in Harrogate, North Yorkshire with our banner (with Carol Minchin, Maggie Uphill, Cathy Cook, Diane Moody & Lindsey Graham).
1989: A vintage film of a Day of Dance in Horsham in 1989. New Esperance feature wearing our Mark II kit of smocks over brown trousers with red hankies, at about 2 mins 30. View the video on the BFI website here.
2010: Nearly there, our kit evolved to include the traditional purple, gold and green suffragette colours. Here in front of Alton town hall.
